  I've been taking my 5 year old to Christ Care Pediatrics in South Shore, KY since he was 18 months old. It's been hit or miss with this place. Sometimes we have no problems, and other times it's not a very good experience. Today was one of those times. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude and condescending to me. She told me I needed to call my insurance company and have one of their doctor's names printed on my son's insurance card. I simply asked her why, because the insurance company would pay regardless (it had never made a difference before). She acted astonished and insulted that I would even question her and then proceeded to berate me in front of the entire waiting room. So I refused. This woman was clearly on some type of power trip and was nitpicking the situation. I've dealt with her in the past, being rude when I asked what she was having me sign. So today was the last straw. I've been going back and forth on whether or not to find a new pediatrician for him, after today I have no doubts. Half the time they don't communicate with parents or explain things very well and half the time they're rude. Also, when my son was a baby he had one eye that was always watery. I took him in multiple times because I was worried about it and Christ Care assured me it was just allergies. Come to find out, he has amblyopia (lazy eye) and I didn't even find out until he got an eye exam at his preschool when he was 3 years old. He should have been wearing an eye patch and glasses from the time he was a baby. Who knows how that affected his development. Bottom line, if you're looking for a pediatrician, I definitely don't recommend this place.
